Dill is a well known, aromatic culinary herb which perhaps originated from southern Europe and Asia. It was first recorded in the wild in Britain in1863 but it has been grown here as a garden herb for centuries. It rarely occurs as a casual garden escape in West Glamorgan and it rarely if ever persists but is sometimes included in wildflower seed mixtures. It is quite frost sensitive.
