Cotoneaster henryanus Henry's Cotoneaster

A tall shrub or small tree, native to China, with long, elliptical, evergreen or semi-evergreen leaves (7-12cm long and up to 4cm broad) which are dull-green. The upper surface of the leaves is somewhat wrinkled and slightly hairy. The dense inflorescences with up to 40 flowers are striking. There are few records in West Glamorgan but it is widely planted and perhaps under recorded. It is a diploid (2n=34) outbreeding species.
