Dactylorhiza incarnata subsp. pulchella Early Marsh-orchid

(Druce) Soó

A plant of wet, acidic habitats such as marshes, heathland and bogs. It differs from other early marsh-orchids in the flower colour which is more purple and also in its more slender, somewhat taller growth form. It has a thinly scattered distribution in Britain and it is uncommon in West Glamorgan.
