Linnaeus
A very common, perennial willowherb with opposite, broadly-lanceolate leaves and flowers with deeply-lobed, pinkish-purple petals and a four-lobed stigma. It is moderatley shade tolerant and occurs frequently in open woodlands, woodland edges and hedgebanks but also in ruderal habitats and frequently as a weed in gardens. It is ubiquitous in Britain and Ireland and probably our most wiidespread willowherb. It is very common in West Glamorgan.
