Linnaeus
A stoloniferous, perennial willowherb which grow in wet, usually acidic marshes, floodplane meadows and the sides of streams, ponds and other water bodies. The hairy stems, which are round and do not have ridges, bear narrow, unstalked lanceolate leaves and drooping pink flowers with club-shaped stigmas. It is common throughout Britain and Ireland and it is found in suitable habitats throughout West Glamorgan. Like other willowherbs its seeds are wind dispersed very effectively but it also produces vegetative turions at the ends of its stolons which are dispersed in winter floods.
