Erinus alpinus Fairy Foxglove

A very attractive, short-lived perennial that is native to the mountains of Europe which has been grown as a garden plant in Britain since the middle of the 18th Century. It seeds prolifically and frequently escapes on to walls and rock outcrops (particularly limestone) and sometimes occurs quite far from gardens. It is uncommon in West Glamorgan.
