Bernh.
A perennial umbellifer which is native in much of temperate and southern western Europe. It has a thinly scattered distribution in Britain, mostly in the souh and east of England. It was first recorded in the wild in Britain in 1858. It is very rare in Wales with records only from West Glamorgan, where a long-standing population occurs in Port Talbot docks. Reproduction by seed requires warm summers but established plants are able to spread by rhizomatous growth.
