Fallopia x bohemica Bohemian Knotweed (F. japonica x sachalinensis)

A vigorous, rhizomatous perennial which is the hybrid between Japanese Knotweed (Fallopia japonica) and Giant Knotweed (Fallopia sachalinensis). It grows in similar places to (and often with) Japanese Knotweed and is intermediate between its parents in its morphology. Individual plants can be functionally male or female (2n=44 or 66) and male plants are able to backcross with parents. It is widely distributed throughout Britain and probably under recorded, which is undoubtedly true in West Glamorgan.
