Tall Tutsan is the hybrid between Tutsan (Hypericum androsaemum) and Stinking Tutsan (Hypericum hircinum). It is much larger than Tutsan (up to 2m tall) with petals that become reflexed, oval (not spherical) berries that are somewhat pointed at their tips and, despite its species name, the foliage has a strong aromatic smell. It is a cultivar hybrid of garden origin which becomes naturalised on walls, bridges, along raiiways and in urban waste places. It is probably dispersed by birds which eat its berries. There are some well established plants among scrub along a cliff top path above Limeslade, Gower
Neophyte.
