Pennell
An annual (sometimes perennial) speedwell that grows in wet or muddy places prone to flooding and usually where water is standing and not running appreciably. It is a southern species in Britain but it is absent from much of Wales where it has a similar, coastal distribution to Water Speedwell (Veronica anagallis-aquatica), but unlike that species it has looser spikes of pink flowers. It has a rather local distribution in West Glamorgan where it is somewhat unpredictable and rarely occurs in large, persistent populations.
