Brachythecium rivulare River Feather-moss

Schimp.

A common and widely distributed, dioicous, pleurocarpous moss of wet places, particularly the banks of streams and rivers but also occasionally in wet grasslands. It can be attractive and very striking when it covers boulders at the sides of fast flowing rivers. Sporophyte capsules are produced occasionally. It is widespread and fairly common in West Glamorgan.
