Entoloma lividoalbum

A robust, chunky pinkgill with a yellowish-brown or grey-brown cap which is paler when dry (hygrophanous) and slightly greasy when moist. The cap is rounded at first but often expands to become flatter or convex with a broad umbo. It has a mealy, farinaceous smell but often this is not very strong. The pink, 5-7 angled spores are about 9 microns in diameter. It grows with oak, beech and chestnut but it is an uncommon species. In West Glamorgan there are records only from Gnoll Country Park where it grows in large clusters under a pedunculate oak hedge.
