Hebeloma velutipes Pale Poisonpie

Bruchet

Probably the most commmon Hebeloma in West Glamorgan. It resembles Hebeloma crustulineforme but the spores have a realively strong violet reaction with Mezler's iodine (see photo). It is almost certainly under recorded and often mistaken for Hebeloma crustulineforme. It grows with deciduous trees and conifers.
