Suillus cavipes Hollow Bolete

A distinctive but uncommon bolete which grows specifically with Larch. The rust-brown coloured cap is conspicuously scaly with large, angular yellow, decurrent pores. The stem is partially hollow, particularly in the lower half, and bears a ring which is obvious in younger fruiting bodies. In Britain, it is mostly a species of conifer plantations in Scotland, but with a few records from Wales in Glamorgan and only from Neath Port Talbot in West Glamorgan.
