Stereocaulon vesuvianum var. vesuvianum

The tufts of ascending pseudopodetia, up to about 5cm high, give this foam lichen a distinctive appearance. It occurs as dense mats on siliceous rocks and boulders in the uplands and is widespread in suitable habitats in West Glamorgan.
