Masarn Arian

Linnaeus

Silver Maple (also known as Water Maple and Swamp Maple), is a fast growing tree that is native to the southern and eastern United States where it is widespread amd often associated with water courses and wetlands. However it is widely cultivated and grown in drier places and is often planted in parks and along streets and roads. The undersides of the leaves are downy and even in a light breeze become exposed to give a shimmering silvery appearance, hence its common name. It does not occur naturalised in West Glamorgan.
