Acer tataricum var. ginnala Amur Maple

(Maxim.) Maxim.

A small, deciduous tree with dark green leaves that are coarsely toothed, rather irregular in shape, with a long central lobe and which turn crimson in autumn. It is native to northeast Asia and Japan and grown widely in gardens and parks. It does not occur as a wild, naturalised species in West Glamorgan.
