Artemisia vulgaris Mugwort

A tall, bushy worwood with a distinctive, but not a strong aromatic smell. The dissected leves are dull green and hairless above but silvery hairy beneath. The flowers are produced in small, egg-shaped heads which have a few yellow disc florets that are only conspicuous when open. It is a common plant of roadsides and rough grassland with a distintive, relatively lowland distribution in West Glamorgan. It is uncommon in the coniferised uplands of the county.
