Choisya ternata Mexican Orange

An evergreen shrub that is native to Mexico and often cultivated in gardens and parks in Britain. It produces starry, white, 5-petalled flowers which are very fragrant. It was first recorded wild in British Flora in Kent in 1980 and has become naturalised in several places in England, Scotland and Wales. It occurs in habitats such waste places, churchyards and woodland and once established it can spread and become somewhat invasive. Plants established in shaded habitats tend not to produce flowers. There are scattered records in West Glamorgan, mostly in Swansea and Gower.
