Lam.
A tall, densely tufted fescue that grows up to 1m in height with narrow, folded tillar leaves, wider, flat culm leaves, no auricles and ovaries with a hairy apex. It is often grown as an ornamental grass and occurs sometimes as a contaminant of seed mixtures sown in amenity grasslands. It has become widely naturalised in woodland rides and the edges of woodland, mostly in southern Britain. It is more scarce in Wales and rarely recorded in West Glamorgan.
