Linnaeus
A small, densely spiny, deciduous shrub that produces lots of yellow peaflowers in early summer and which is native to south-western Europe. It has a scattered distribution in Britain but it is not common as a wild, naturalised species. It is sometimes planted along roads and in industrial and retail estates. There few records of it in West Glamorgan, but a small population in Resolven, Neath Port Talbot, has been known for several years.
