Hieracium consociatum Sociable Hawkweed

Similar to Southern Hakweed (Hieracium argillaceum) but the shorter involucral bracts (phyllaries) are no longer than 10mm but like that species  have glandular and stellate hairs but few non-glandular hairs. Its leaves are also broader, more oval-elliptic and have longer, more prominent, mammiform teeth. It is in some ways intermediate between Southern Hawkweed and Tall Hawkweed (Hieracium acuminatum), which has even longer more acuminate teeth along the edges of its leaves. It is widespread in south Wales and West Glamorgan, particularly in upland areas but also in disturbed habitats, like Southern Hawkweed. It is a member of the Section Vulgata.
