Hieracium eustomon Bristol Channel Hawkweed

An endemic hawkweed which belongs to Section Stelligera, a group of native species that contains species that are usually found on limestone rocks and cliffs. One of its key features are the large, thick, basal leaves which have irregular teeth. There are few or no stem leaves. It is locally frequent on the limestone cliffs of south Gower and it also grows on the walls of Pennard Castle alongside Yellow Whitlow-grass Draba aizoides.
