In addition to the flowers providing a rich nectar source for long-tongued pollinators, such as the Elephant Hawk-moth Deilephila elpenor, other parts of the plant host a diverse range of herbivorous invertebrates. These include the sawfly Abia lonicerae and lepidoptera such as Twenty-plume Moth Alucita hexadactyla and Early Grey Xylocampa areola.
