Malva moschata Musk-mallow

A perennial mallow with showy, pale rose-pink flowers, which often occurs in roadside verges and grasslands on well-drained soils. It is widespread and common in much of southern Britain but it is less common in the north and Ireland. It has been inroduced widley in seed mixtures sown into verges and amenity areas in recent years, so the status, extent and abundance of truly native plants in our flora is not clear. It has, undoubtedly, become a more familiar sight along roads in south Wales in the last few decades and it has become a common feature of verges along major roads in West Glamorgan.
