Zostera noltei Dwarf Eelgrass

Notes: Zostera beds within the Burry Inlet provide an important food resource for wintering waterfowl, most notably Dark-bellied Brent Geese (Branta bernicla bernicla), which migrate from arctic Russia to spend the winter at the most westerly point of their UK range. Wigeon (Anas penelope) also graze the beds, though numbers of this species have declined dramatically over the last 30 years.
