(Schaeff.) Gray
Cortinarius croceus is a beautiful webcap which occurs in coniferous and broad-leaved woodland and is often found growing beds of haircap (Polytrichum) mosses under Lodgepole Pine (Pinus contorta) in West Glamorgan. The bright yellow gills are very striking and contrast with the reddish-brown cap, which is usually quite dark in colour.
