Entoloma poliopus

A small pimkgill of unimproved grassland which is very similar to Entoloma serrulatum and can only be separated from it after microscopic examination of cheilocystidium structure. The cheilocystidia of Entoloma poliopus are clavate and usually contain brownish contents (see photos). It is easily probably as common as Entoloma serrulatum in unimproved grasslands and on coal tips in West Glamorgan but is rarely recorded.
