(N. Lund) P.D. Orton
A common fibrecap in coastal parts of West Glamorgan, e.g. Morfa Dunes, Baglan Dunes, Crymlyn Burrows, which is frequently found in dune slacks and usually associated with willows, particulary Creeping Willow (Salix repens). It is similar to Inocybe (Mallocybe) dulcamara, but unlike that species it usually has a distinct, scurfy ring on its stem. The smooth spores are 10-12 microns long and the large cheilocystidia are balloon-like (see photo).
Known also as Mallocybe agardhii (N. Lund) Matheny & Esteve-Rav.
