Physcia aipolia Hoary Rosette Lichen

A neat, attractive lichen which grows appressed on twigs, branches and wooden posts, sometimes on walls. It usually forms grey or blue-grey rosettes that can be quite small but invariably bearing conspicuous, dark brownish-black apothecia which have raised, grey margins. It is widespread in West Glamorgan.
