Fallopia convolvulus Black-bindweed

An annual weed of arable land, gardens, allotments and urban waste places which scrambles along the ground or climbes up other plants. It has probably been a weed of cultivation since Neolithis times, often spreading as a contaminant of agricultural seed and found throughout Britain except for some upland and mountainous areas of Wales and Scotland. It has a scattered coastal and lowland distribution in West Glamorgan where it is found as an arable weed and in waste places in urban areas.
