Filipendula vulgaris
Moench
A herbaceous perennial which grows in calcaeous grassland. It is smaller than Meadowsweet, with darker green finely cut leaflets and unlike that species it is not a wetland plant. It is locally abundant on chalk and limestone in Britain, mostly in Eng;and, with a curious distribution in Wales where it is found mostly in the west. It's occurrence in Glamorgan was refuted in Flora of Glamorgan but there are a few isolated records of it from mid and west Glamorgan, including Gower. Howerver it has not been seen in West Glamorgan in recent decades.
