Oenanthe lachenalii Parsley Water-dropwort

Similar to Tubular Water-dropwort (Oenanthe fistulosa) but slighter, less greyish-green and usually with solid stems which are not inflated. It is a plant of brackish marshes and the upper zones on salt marshes where it grows with species such as Sea Rush (Juncus maritimus), Sharp Rush (Juncus acutus), Saltmarsh Sedge (Carex extensa) and Sea Club-rush (Bolboschoenus maritimus). It is a Sub-oceanic species with a widespread coastal distribution in Britain but also found less commonly inland along some major lowland valleys. It has a local coastal distribution in West Glamorgan where it is widespread along the coast of north Gower and locally common in the Neath estuary, extending inland along the river as far as Neath and also in mildly saline areas in the vicinity of the Kenfig rivermouth.
