Entoloma prunuloides

A chunky pinkgill with a mealy smell and appearance. The cap is a grey-brown or a grey-ochre colour with fibrillose, radial streaks, up to 70mm in diameter and with a conspicuous, broad or somewhat pointed umbo. The gills are moderately spaced, white at first, becoming more pink with age. The stem is white and sometimes slightly yellowish at the base. The 5-7 angled spores are almost circular in outline  (isodiametric) and 7-8 microns in diameter (see photo). It is an uncommon species of unimproved grassalnds and very rare in West Glamorgan with just one record from Bryn Tip in Neath Port Talbot.
