Erigeron glaucus Seaside Daisy

An attractive North American species which has been grown as a garden plant in Britain since the early 19th Century. It has a decumbent perennial growth form and once established can form large clumps which can persist for several years and may become invasive. It is almost exclusively a coastal species in Britain where it grows on sand dunes, shingle, sea cliffs, walls and pavements and it appears to be extending its range northwards. It is not common in West Glamorgan but there are some populations on the cliffs of south Gower and less commonly on sand dunes in Swansea Bay.
